Removing Your Harken 48 ST Primary from the boat

On my 1997 T-3800, Recess, the Harken 48 ST is the primary genoa sheet winch.

This video shows how I removed the 48 from the coaming and some of its important characteristics and internal parts.

This is a lengthy video; it comes in at slightly more than 26 minutes.  You may want to know in advance that I'm a chatty film maker and you are getting things stream of consciousness and not from a script.  On the other hand, the removal video is pretty thorough.

You can always use the video screen controls to "scrub" quickly through any part of the video you deem boring or non-informative.  But do note that sometimes I have a grain or two of useful info in amidst all that chatter as I remove the winch.  YMMV.  I think it will prove useful to you if you have a 48 ST Classic that you want to get off the boat and get home for maintenance.

NOTE:  When you click the "Play" arrow (>) the video takes a few seconds to begin playing.
